SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

Dr. Marcela V Karpuj, is a Ph.D. neurobiologist at the Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases in San Francisco. She is an expert in cystamine/cysteamine drug activity in the R6/2 mouse model of Huntingtons. She is co-author of the cystamine R6/2 mouse model study.

Dr. Jerry Schneider is an M.D. is a Professor of Pediatrics and Dean of Academic affairs at The University of California in San Diego. Though not an expert in Huntington's, he is an expert on cysteamine, pioneering successful use of this drug in children with cystinosis.

Dr. Clifford Steer, M.D. is a Professor of Medicine and Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development as well as Director, Molecular Gastroenterology Program, University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Steer is an expert in TUDCA/ursodiol drug activity in many model and human systems. He is senior co-author of the TUDCA R6/2 mouse model study.

Dr. Charles R.G. Guttmann, M.D. is the founding Director of the Center for Neuological Imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and, Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Ferenc A. Jolesz, M.D. is the Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the B. Leonard Holman Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. He is Director of the Division of MRI and of the Image Guided Therapy Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Dr.s Guttmann and Jolesz are leaders in the Neruoimaging Analysis Center, which is sponsored by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
